Chaminade University OF HONOLULU Aloha Nurses, This Nurses Week-and every week-we have a simple message for you: mahalo. Nursing is not just a career, but a passion and a calling. As a nurse, you need extensive education and training, quick thinking, stress management skills and the ability to provide high quality and inclusive care for all patients. But of course, that is just the beginning. You are also the rock that patients and families rely on for support, reassurance and empathy. They turn to you for a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. At Chaminade, we have rallied behind nurses, advocating for the profession, elevating their impact in healthcare, and supporting them in any way we can, because we know nurses are the lifeblood of healthcare. This Nurses Week, we are reminded and inspired by how much the nursing workforce has achieved in the face of a global pandemic, and also incredibly excited to think about what the nursing profession can continue to accomplish in the years to come, with renewed support and energy behind them. You are a superhero in scrubs, and essential to every health care setting-in hospitals, nursing homes, ambulatory care centers and patients' homes. You and your incredible work are the reason we are proud to say that we are also part of your tight-knit community. As nurses and educators, your work continues to inspire us-as well as our many nursing students. So this Nurses Week, know that we are thinking of you, we are celebrating you and we are championing your positive impact. We hope you can carve out time this week despite your busy schedule to focus on your own wellbeing, rejuvenate your mind and body, and reflect on all the good you do. We speak for the entire Chaminade 'ohana when we extend our gratitude to you. But more than that, we are also pledging our support in building a healthy, thriving nursing workforce. To every nurse reading this-we are listening and we stand with you. Thank you for your contributions to our community, Lynn M.
