About
La Pietra – Hawaii School for Girls was originally the vision of two extraordinary women: Lorraine Day Cooke and Barbara Cox Anthony. They believed strongly that girls in Hawaii would thrive in a school built just for them.
A student-teacher ratio of seven to one ensures both personal support and academic challenge. The school's philosophy towards education is a "pleasurable struggle," a partnership between home and school reinforces shared values of respect, manners, responsibility, perseverance, cooperation, independence, and teamwork.
At La Pietra, girls ARE the leaders, and co-curricular opportunities in student government, Peer Leadership training, athletics, the fine arts, and community service invite our students to be global citizens who make a difference.
